Experiencia fantástica: Mortgage Direct (MD) is a professional and very competent mortgage broker that is worth every penny engaging, particularly if you are new to the Spanish lending market and you are not familiar with the local standards, practices and language. It is also important to mention that MD is independent and works for you with no conflict of interest. In our case, MD coordinated the entire journey from start to finish including the collection of data and documents, filing applications with the lenders to have them compete for our business, evaluating lenders’ offers, finalizing the financing, and coordinating between notaries and attorneys. Let me specifically mention Susanne Gonzalez (Malaga office) who has been top notch in this process. Not only is she a complete pro in her space, she goes above and beyond in guiding you through the process. No question will be unanswered, no matter what time of the day. Experiencia negativa: Do not recommend. They are so insanely expensive for just doing one Job, connecting you to the Bank. They also get a commision from the Bank (even 1-2% is also a lot as the loan amounts are generally higher)They wont do anything else. While buying a property in valencia, I worked with Will R and didnt have a good experience. They will ask you every single document and they do not understand the documents from other EU countries. Since you will have to pay in advance, you will end up working them but imo, you can approach the banks directly. Most of the Banks speak english especially when they have to give out loans and be helpful. Banks also make it easier so you can interact with them directly. stay away form these mediators and just spend some time so you can get things done in a much easier and transparent way

We were quickly approved and were able to meet the original date of our arras contract. I highly recommend using Mortgage Direct if you are an expat with unique circumstances that require proper assembly and submittal of the application.

Steve from MD was kind enough to answer all my questions (and there were quite a few!), enquire with banks about my case, and provide helpful advice even before I became a client. At that point, I wasn't able to get a mortgage because of my employment status. Fast forward a year and something, and I just bought a house in Spain with Steve's help! He found me an excellent deal on the mortgage, negotiated for a better rate, and guided me through the entire process with great patience, providing detailed information at every step. His communication was impeccable, he answered all my questions thoroughly and promptly and provided his opinion on the offer and on different options we had. The process took almost three months and now having gone through it, I don't think I could have done it on my own and for sure I wouldn't be able to get the offer I got in the end. I can't recommend this company highly enough, if you're buying a property in Spain and need a mortgage be sure to consider them.

Experiencia fantástica: We had Carlos as our advisor. He is bilingual in English and Spanish. What a pro. Ours was an uncommon case and he went above and beyond with telling our story to the bank and then again with acting as a neutral confidant during the weeks leading up to the closing. As far as the actual mortgage goes, I feel we got .5%-1% better interest rate than had we gone it alone. Also, I’m not confident we would have even been approved without a broker service because we didn’t understand what the banks were looking for. I tried to ask a different brokerage about our chances of approval and they didn’t seem hopeful. So I think it’s likely that this brokerage in particular is better especially when dealing non-EU income sources. 5 stars. Well worth the fee. Would recommend.

We've also dealt with the "big boys" who immediately pop up when you're looking for a mortgage. The costs are considerably higher, and the communication is much more commercial.
